Timetable and lesson scheduling

Turn a weekly pattern into dated lessons that respect holidays and prayer times.

Masira turns timetables into dated lessons that respect your holidays, terms and prayer times, and checks for conflicts before saving. Use this guide to schedule a class's week.

Before you schedule

Make sure the following are ready:

  • The academic year, terms and any holidays are in the calendar.
  • Classes are created and enabled.
  • Each class has its subjects and teachers attached.
  • Your weekly pattern is defined.

Scheduling lessons

  1. Open the class details or the calendar and choose to schedule a lesson.
  2. Select the class subject.
  3. Pick a single date or a recurring day-of-week pattern with a start and end date.
  4. Set the start and end times, teacher and room.
  5. Save. Masira checks for conflicts first: a teacher, room or class booked twice at the same time is rejected with a clear message.

Changing the pattern

Update or remove lessons from the calendar, and lessons generated from the weekly pattern stay consistent with holidays and prayer times.

Attendance and lessons

Attendance is taken against scheduled sessions, so a well-kept timetable gives every teacher the right roster automatically.
