Taking attendance

Lessons, Salah, Hifz sessions, kiosk check-ins and the nightly daily status.

Masira records attendance for lessons, prayers, Hifz sessions and boarding check-ins as separate contexts, then computes one daily status per student each night. This guide covers the daily routine.

Taking attendance

  1. Open Attendance and choose Take attendance.
  2. Pick the date, class and context, such as a lesson, Salah, Hifz session or boarding check-in.
  3. Mark everyone present in one tap, then change exceptions: absent, late, excused or left early, with arrival and departure times and notes where needed.
  4. Save. Every mark records who marked it and how.

Kiosk check-in

On the Kiosk tab, a device at the entrance lets students check in by scanning a QR or entering their student ID. Arrival times are stamped automatically, and marks are tagged as manual, kiosk or offline sync for auditing.

The daily status

Each night, Masira converts the day's session marks into one daily status per student, such as present, absent, tardy, excused or half day, following the rules you configured in Codes & rules. Administrators can override a day with a recorded reason, and the override is logged.

Reports

The Reports tab shows daily attendance averages and membership figures, lists chronically absent students for early intervention, and validates the data for messy or missing marks. Everything exports to CSV.
