Why Masira exists, and how it is built
Why we built Masira
Islamic institutions teach programmes that generic school software was never designed for: Hifz with Sabaq, Sabqi and Manzil, Dars-e-Nizami with classical texts and ijazah chains, schedules built around Salah, and calendars that follow the Hijri months. When these institutions use software built for something else, the result is workarounds, spreadsheets and notebooks that carry a student's history away with the teacher. We built Masira so Islamic institutions have software designed around how they actually teach.
How it is built
Masira is designed and engineered by the aharsg team in Buffalo, New York. We build the platform's architecture and its core engines: scheduling, attendance, Hifz tracking, grading and billing. Every record is isolated per institution behind row-level security, billing state is managed server-side, and changes to students, families and grades are audit-logged, so records can be trusted years later.
Respecting tradition
Digital tools should support, not replace, the teacher-student relationship at the heart of Islamic education. Masira is built around that bond: a Hifz log that takes seconds at the end of a sitting, attendance that understands a day shaped by prayer, and reports that give teachers credit for work that used to live in notebooks.
Our data commitments
Your institution owns its data, and can export everything, including a full backup, at any time. We never sell personal data, we never use connected email for ads or AI training, and where Google permissions are involved we ask for each one separately, only when a feature needs it. Gmail sending and expense scanning are pending Google's verification of restricted permissions and will open to institutions once it completes.
Where we are
Masira is in public beta, released continuously in partnership with our first institutions. On the roadmap: an expanded parent portal, online admissions, SMS and WhatsApp notifications, and PDF and government-format exports. We publish our roadmap so you can base decisions on what works today, not on promises.
Open development
Early institutions help shape the product directly. Questions, feature requests and feedback all reach the team through the contact page, and the knowledge base documents every module honestly, including what is still being built.
Ahmadur Rahman
Founder of aharsg (aharsg.com), the company behind Masira. Ahmadur leads the product's vision and engineering, from the scheduling and attendance engines to Hifz tracking, grading and billing, and works directly with the first institutions to shape the roadmap.

Learn moreAbout Masira, answered
Who builds Masira?
Masira is a product of aharsg (aharsg.com), founded by Ahmadur Rahman, and is designed and engineered by the aharsg team in Buffalo, New York.
What does the name mean?
Masira (مسيرة) means the journey. We chose it because managing an institution, and memorizing the Qur'an, are both long journeys that deserve good companions.
Is Masira only for madrasas?
No. Masira is built for any institution with Islamic education at its heart: madrasas, Hifz academies, Alim seminaries, Islamic K-12 schools, weekend schools and boarding madrasas.
How is Masira different from other school software?
Generic school software does not understand Sabaq, Sabqi and Manzil, prayer-aware timetables, Hijri dates, Dars-e-Nizami tracks, Mahram-aware pickups or zakat-funded students. Masira was designed around these from the first line of code.
Is Masira finished?
Masira is in public beta, and we are honest about it. The roadmap, including the parent portal, online admissions and notification channels, is published, and the 30-day free trial lets you judge exactly what works today.
How can we get in touch?
Through the contact page on this site. We answer questions about pricing, setup, data import and partnerships personally.
