Getting started: set up your institution

Profile, academic year, classes and subjects, then your first students.

1. Create your institution

Start a free trial from the Get started button. Enter your institution's name, type (madrasa, Hifz academy, Islamic school, weekend school or seminary), city and contact details. Masira creates a private, isolated workspace for your institution.

2. Configure the calendar

Open the Calendar settings. Set your timezone and location so prayer times are calculated correctly, choose a prayer calculation method and Asr school, and choose whether dates are shown in Gregorian, Hijri or both. Then create your academic year and terms.

3. Create classes

Under Classes, add each class with its track (Dars-e-Nizami, Hifz, K-12, pre-Alim or custom), section, capacity, class teacher and monthly fee. Classes start disabled so you can prepare them before they go live.

4. Add subjects

For each class, attach subjects. For Islamic studies, record the book and author taught — for example a Fiqh subject studying a specific text. Set the total marks for exams.

5. Add staff

Add your teachers and staff, their qualifications and ijazah, and assign them roles that control which modules they can open.

6. Admit students

Use Add student to register your first students, link them to families and place them in classes. They will appear immediately in attendance, Hifz and fee screens.
