How Sabaq, Sabqi and Manzil are tracked
Understanding the Hifz log and Juz heatmap.
The three-part method
Most Hifz programmes use three daily components. Sabaq is the new portion memorized that day. Sabqi is the revision of recently memorized portions. Manzil is the revision of older portions in a rotating cycle so nothing is forgotten. Masira records each component as its own log entry.
Creating a log entry
Open Hifz, select the student, and choose Sabaq, Sabqi or Manzil. Record the surah and ayah range or page, the juz, a star rating for quality, the number of mistakes and any notes. The date defaults to today.
Reading the Juz heatmap
Each student has a grid of 30 squares, one per juz. Squares are shaded based on logged progress and quality, so a teacher can see at a glance which juz are memorized, which are in progress, and which have weak revision and need attention.
Using the data
Compare Sabqi and Manzil ratings over time to spot portions that are slipping. Share progress with parents through the parent portal when enabled, and issue certificates when a student completes a milestone.
